Paris Cafe - a poem

"Cafe Terrace at Night"  by Vincent Van Gogh (1888)
Rijksmuseum Van Gogh, The Netherlands
Paris, at night

Starry filled sky

Empty tables, like my heart

Standing lonely on the cobblestones

From the outside, looking in

Wishing to sit, clinking wine glasses

Intimate talk, nuzzled kisses

Images so far away now

As I walk down the street

Away from the light

Alone, into the dark and

Away from the past.
