Teardrops falling softly

I am beginning to question
Have I ever been loved?
I thought I was at the time
But, was it really? Was it turtle doves?

Was I just a convenience
At the time?
Lovely, but just present
For the moment to bind?

Something to ease the pain
Of relationships gone past?
Presently, a sweet diversion
Just to ease the mind so fast?

Tell me, did you love me?
Or was it all for naught?
In between the pressures
Of a love forgot?

Teardrops falling softly
From the rose's edge. . . .
